Indirect Procurement Specialist

About the Opportunity

Join Sandvik Mining as a Procurement Specialist and play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence across our indirect procurement function. In this dynamic position, you’ll ensure the seamless execution of procurement activities. From purchase order processing and supplier onboarding to supporting commercial negotiations and supplier relationships. Working within a collaborative Operations Team, you’ll help maintain continuity of supply, uphold compliance standards, and contribute to shaping our broader procurement strategy. Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end supplier onboarding, ensuring all compliance and governance checks are completed accurately

  • Optimise procurement workflows using Sandvik’s Procure-to-Pay platforms, including spend plans and supplier setup

  • Manage and maintain key procurement systems such as Citibank, Ecovadis, and Basware

  • Maintain accurate supplier databases, including vendor master data cleansing and deactivation activities

  • Support and contribute to supplier contract negotiations, ensuring all documentation is captured within SRM

  • Independently manage contract negotiations with transactional suppliers to drive value and efficiency

  • Investigate and resolve supplier account holds and invoice discrepancies through root-cause analysis

  • Process and finalise purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with procurement standards

  • Monitor and enforce supplier compliance in line with Sandvik’s procurement policies and strategic objectives

  • Engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders, leading or supporting meetings and providing actionable insights

About you

You are a driven procurement professional with a Certificate IV in Supply Chain Operations (Purchasing and Procurement) or a tertiary qualification in Business, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, backed by 5+ years of experience across procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operation (ideally within indirect categories). You bring strong hands-on expertise across the Procure-to-Pay lifecycle, with proven capability in managing purchase orders and requisitions, conducting supplier onboarding and compliance checks, collating and analysing RFQ responses, and working with procurement systems such as Basware, Aurora, or similar. You will have intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.

With sharp commercial acumen and exceptional attention to detail, you thrive in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, efficiency, and compliance are critical. You are a confident communicator and natural relationship builder, able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders while working both autonomously and as part of a team. Passionate about delivering value, you continuously seek opportunities to improve processes and strengthen procurement outcomes.
