Business Controller, SMR SA India
Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a business area of the Sandvik Group and a leading supplier of equipment and tools, services, support and technical solutions for the mining industry and specialist sectors such as quarrying, tunnelling, demolition, dimensional stone, recycling and the civil engineering industry. SMRT's offering covers drilling, mechanical cutting, loading and hauling, demolition and recycling, and various solutions to increase automation.
We are looking for a dynamic and an energetic Business Controller for SMR sales area. This role reports to the Sales Area Manager, SA India. This position will be based in Pune.
Your responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible in assisting to build business plans in close concert with the Sales Area Manager and the Business Line Managers, define ways measure and report its key indicators and advice on the opportunities for business growth and development.
Your additional duties include:
- Demonstrates personal responsibility and accountability for individual and others safety. Active participation to enhance safety and health and improves the environmental performance of our processes (e.g. participation in hazard reviews, EH&S training, and safety meetings; considers the environmental impacts of our processes, complies with applicable EH&S policies/procedures).
- Member of the Sales Area management team
- Analyse current and new contracts from financial aspects and propose corrective actions.
- Direct the financial forecasting activities.
- Prepare and analyze financial forecasts, actuals financial results and monitor A&S cost of the Business Area.
- Monitor, analyze and make recommendations related to Cash Conversion Cycle (CCC).
- Ensure company's credit control policies are adhered to and liaison with concerned team for receivables.
- Prepare and present to management the financial reports including Sales Area income statement, trading cash flows, business performance, risk and opportunities, contingency and cost center performance.
- Promote financial awareness and accountability within the operating teams.
- Hiring, training, evaluating and directing team members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Business
Your Skills and Qualifications
We are looking for a dynamic team member with a Charted Accountant degree & minimum ten years of experience in financial forecasting, financial monitoring of Business and contract management. Previously holding a leadership position, within direct or indirect management, and working with change initiatives is advantageous.
To drive performance from a financial perspective, you need strong business understanding, preferably from a manufacturing industry. You also have knowledge of Macro & Micro Business environment - including appreciation of Law of the Land in relation to taxation & accounting principles- as well as strong business acumen. As we act on a global stage, you need excellent verbal and written English skills.

As a true team player, you build relationships based on honesty, respect and trust and use your good communication skills to interact with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
You need coaching Skills to support coaching the Sales Area team members on Finance & Business. Together with the Business Line managers, you lead performance and implement improvements, and to be successful, you need a visionary approach to what the control and finance function can offer to make improvements. With a holistic view and a sense for numbers, you use your analytical and structural ability to create influential presentations supported by good arguments.
