Stefan Widing comments on Q3 and Sandvik unveils new drilling concept

CEO Stefan Widing shares his perspective on the Q3 interim report, while Sandvik presents a new surface drilling concept combining AI, automation and electrification.

Almost 900 customers, industry media and Sandvik experts gathered in Tampere, Turku and Sandviken for Future of Mining 2026. A key attraction was the new surface drilling concept, which uses an industrial robot to autonomously handle tasks such as tool changes and can measure hole depth and deviation after drilling.

Rock Processing has also secured a major order from Vale for mining operations in Brazil. And at IMTS and AMB, Sandvik experts and brands met thousands of manufacturers, customers and partners to discuss productivity, automation and digital manufacturing.

The episode also covers the new long-term partnership between Sandvik and the Swedish Red Cross to support emergency relief efforts.
