Sandvik Innovation Prize winners announced
Sandvik Innovation Prize 2025 has been awarded to a team from business area Rock Processing for their excellent work on an innovative Blueprint Jaw Crusher chamber platform. The team from the Mobiles Division consists of Stuart Graydon, Adam Baxter, Stuart Smyth, Kevin McCaul and William Neill.
The Blueprint jaw crusher marks a significant step forward in innovation. It is the first Sandvik jaw crusher capable of controlling its closed-side setting to ensure optimal productivity and the first to detect wear in the crushing chamber, enabling proactive maintenance and verification of original parts.
Blueprint jaw crusher“On behalf of the team, we are honored to receive this award for the Blueprint Crusher. This recognition belongs to the team whose dedication and collaboration made it possible. Our goal has been to develop a solution that will serve our customers better, and this achievement reflects that commitment. Thank you for acknowledging our efforts and inspiring us to keep improving,” says Patrick Forrest, VP R&D and Product Management.
Customer impact means productivity gains of up to 42%, up to 15x longer service life for key parts and advanced insights including wear detection. For Sandvik, this means an overall business impact of strengthened aftermarket value and streamlined time-to-market through a scalable design methodology.
“The Mobiles Division is one of the smaller divisions within Sandvik. However, the impact this innovation has on its business and the fact that it can be used in other divisions is really great,” says Susanne Norgren, Head of Sandvik Scientific Council, which had a hard job selecting the winners in fierce competition with other innovations.
The prize money and a diploma will be handed over by CEO Stefan Widing in a separate ceremony.
