Currently, we have an opening for an Asset Specialist Supervisor. The Asset Specialist Supervisor is responsible for overseeing Asset Specialist activities and for ensuring the consistent development, maintenance, and application of indicative lifecycle operating cost (LCC) and predictive operating cost (POC) models across new and existing fleets, while driving standardised processes aligned with global lifecycle and data initiatives.

What you will be doing

The Asset Specialist Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, oversight, and coordination of Lifecycle Asset Specialist activities across Canada. This role ensures the consistent development, governance, and continuous improvement of lifecycle cost (LCC) and predictive operating cost (POC) models for Sandvik equipment.

Working closely with Aftermarket Contracts, Lifecycle Support Services, Service Contracts teams, and P&S Sales Representatives, the Supervisor ensures a reliable asset register, high-quality data governance, and standardized lifecycle modeling practices across the region.

The LCC models underpin the development of comprehensive Maintenance Strategy Plans for equipment and are to be periodically reviewed for accuracy and with the following outputs:

  • Service schedules and component lives.
  • Budget operating costs matched to Maintenance Strategy Plans.
  • Serial number specific Parts consumption forecasts.
  • Indicative Maintenance Labor Resource Requirements.
  • Indicative Operating Costs (POC).
  • Manage and facilitate feedback from active contracts to drive the continuous improvement and accuracy of Lifecycle models.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the Account teams to support Tender submissions

Lifecycle Costing & Asset Management

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of lifecycle cost (LCC) and POC models for new and existing equipment fleets.
  • Ensure consistency, governance, and standardization of lifecycle modeling practices across the region.
  • Ensure the integrity and completeness of the fleet asset register (serial-specific).

Maintenance & Operational Planning

Oversee and validate the development and continuous improvement of:

  • Service schedules and component lifecycles.
  • Budgeted operating costs aligned with maintenance strategies.
  • Parts consumption forecasts (by serial number).
  • Maintenance labor requirements.
  • Indicative operating costs (POC).

Continuous Improvement

  • Facilitate structured feedback from active contracts to improve model accuracy and assumptions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across lifecycle modeling and asset performance.
  • Ensure lessons learned are captured and integrated into standard practices.

Commercial & Sales Support

  • Provide oversight and strategic input into tender submissions.
  • Validate operating cost forecasts and revenue projections.
  • Support pricing strategies (bundled and standalone parts/services).
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of fleet and operational inputs provided to stakeholders.

Data & Reporting

  • Act as Canada Fleet Champion for SMR Parts & Services (excluding Mechanical Cutting, Crushing & Screening).
  • Oversee MDG access, data governance, and data quality across all fleet systems.
  • Oversee development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and reporting tools:
    • Fleet performance
    • Parts availability and supply metrics
    • Model coverage and data automation initiatives

Auditing & Equipment Condition

  • Ensure consistent practices for transfer and validation of equipment condition between Sandvik and customers.
  • Oversee processes that improve equipment visibility and condition tracking.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce downtime and improve fleet availability.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Provide day-to-day leadership, prioritization, and direction to Asset Specialists and Lifecycle Specialists.
  • Coach, mentor, and support team development and performance.
  • Provide escalation support and remove barriers to execution.
  • Drive role clarity, accountability, and alignment with regional and global objectives.

  • Strategic thinking with ability to balance operational and commercial priorities.
  • Strong understanding of data governance and reporting tools (Power BI an asset).
  • Ability to manage change and drive standardization across teams.
  • Bilingualism (English required, French considered an asset).
  • Willingness to travel and work in various environments (including underground if required).

Required Education/ Experience

  • 7+ years service experience.
  • Strong Sandvik product and operations experience.
  • Associate’s degree (or two-year college diploma) in Business or Marketing or Technical Diploma within Engineering, etc. or equivalent demonstrated technical knowledge/expertise.
  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
  • Valid Passport.
  • Training in key aspects of technical trades.
  • The role may require working underground.
