The Role
We are seeking a proactive Expeditor who will administer the efficient movement of goods (e.g., materials, products, equipment) across international borders in accordance with organizational policies and in compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws and processes.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Evaluating cargo handling activities to ensure effective and efficient customs clearance and delivery processes.
- Registering all imports from overseas suppliers for customs clearance in line with regulatory requirements.
- Liaising with clearing agents and brokers to facilitate prompt shipment clearance and delivery to service centres.
- Collating and verifying all shipping and customs documentation for goods received from the port prior to inbound processing.
- Registering and tracking all parts-related issues (wrong spares, damaged parts, shortages, and overages) through the Sandvik LPS, ensuring timely resolution of tickets.
- Monitoring all orders for SMC Ghana to ensure timely, efficient, and cost-effective delivery.
- Adhering strictly to all Sandvik Policies and Procedures, with particular emphasis on SHEQ standards.
- Performing any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualification & Competencies
Minimum Degree in Purchasing & Supply or related field.
Part qualification in CIPS or its equivalent.
Advanced knowledge of MS Office applications.
Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a similar role.
Experience in cargo management and import logistics.
Knowledge of Aurora Software will be an advantage.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Data analytics
Ability to communicate in French.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
