The Receiving Lead coordinates and supports daily receiving operations for the Alachua warehouse. This position is responsible for ensuring inbound shipments are received accurately and efficiently, directing daily receiving activities, resolving operational issues, tracking inventory locations, supporting buyers with receiving-related concerns, and maintaining accurate labor and receiving records. The role serves as a key point of contact for dock management, workflow coordination, and continuous improvement within the Receiving department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and delegate daily work assignments to Receiving department personnel to ensure workload priorities are completed efficiently.
  • Lead daily receiving operations, including unloading, verifying, and processing inbound shipments.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Receive, inspect, and document incoming materials, products, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot receiving, inventory, and operational issues to minimize disruptions and ensure timely resolution.
  • Manage dock scheduling and workflow to support efficient inbound material movement.
  • Process a high volume of receiving transactions while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Utilize multiple computer systems and warehouse management tools to record, track, and reconcile inventory movements.
  • Support Buyers by researching and resolving receiving discrepancies, shipment issues, and inventory location inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate receiving documentation and inventory records.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to receiving, inventory control, safety, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, quality requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrate respect and commitment to the IMS system (ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018) taking accountability for its effectiveness and continued improvements.

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coordinate and direct the work of others.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency using multiple computer systems, Microsoft Office applications, ERP systems, and warehouse management software.
  • Ability to prioritize competing demands while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of receiving, inventory control, warehouse operations, and material handling processes.
  • Ability to analyze discrepancies and resolve operational issues effectively.
  • Ability to safely perform physical work, including frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, and material movement.
  • Experience with ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Education, Experience & Work Authorization Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on an indefinite basis without sponsorship
  • Minimum of 3 years of warehouse, receiving, logistics, or inventory control experience.
  • Previous experience coordinating work activities or serving as a lead within a warehouse environment preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts and material handling equipment required.
