WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR – TANZANIA

We’re looking for a dynamic person, passionate about customer engagement and providing a world class experience to join our growing team in one of our customer sites in Tanzania as Warehouse Supervisor. The person will be handling site operations activities, including other team’s / staff coordination duties at our Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI).
The role will report to the Warehouse Operations Manager and will be based in one of our customer sites in Tanzania.
Purpose of the role:
Responsible for supervising the general operations and efficient delivery of a warehouse and its staff while handling the recording and maintaining of inventory, advising the inbound flow of and effective sales of goods. Perform other delegated tasks to ensure continuous improvements and compliance with Warehouse Management.
Responsible to supervise the correct and efficient operation of the Sandvik Parts and Logistics function for the identified site through effective logistics, internal and external customer relationship management including receiving, issuing and administration of the required parts and consumables and to ensure effective Warehouse maintenance.
The VMI Warehouse Supervisor will also do Stock Planning Role through proactive customer relationship management; effectively contribute to the customer’s productivity, reliability and profit, by providing value adding parts & services solutions and maximizing parts & services businesses opportunities whenever possible.
The job responsibilities:
- Supervise the periodic cycle counts and report on all materials and supplies in the store's facilities;
- Ensure correct quantities of spares & tools are received in the warehouse;
- Conduct audits to ensure all goods received are physical checked for damages, wrong goods, under and / or over shipments.
- Ensure goods are correctly receipted onto the system and locations;
- Ensure replenishable goods are binned in correct bin locations;
- Oversees receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures.
- Effectively contribute to customer’s productivity, reliability, and profit through timely delivery of products/parts from warehouse
- Ensures coordination with relevant stakeholders regarding any improvement activities related with inventory control.
- Supervise stock movements (i.e.: receiving, dispatching & returns process) on regular bases.
- Improve customer experience and availability (fill rate) of Parts standard assortment in the stockroom of responsibility.
- Responsible to coordinate with warehouse Operations Manager any improvement activities related with inventory control at VMI.
- Adhering to al Company policies and procedure, including those in relation to Safety, Health, Environment & Quality Managements.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics / Supply Chain or related qualifications from recognized institution.
- Minimum 3 Years experience in logistics / procurement / supply chain operations.
- Knowledge and experience with ERP systems (i.e., Aurora)
- Experience in handling customer queries and complaints.
- Previous experience and exposure in mining industry and related industries will be an added advantage.
Other Requirements & Competencies
- Good command of the English Language.
- Good numerical skills.
- Attention to detail and conscientious.
- Must be flexible and self-reliant, self-starter.
