Sales Manager

Sandvik Mining & Rock Solutions, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry, currently has an opening for a Deputy Manager/Manager- Sales & Application. This role will report to Dy.GM- Sales & Application Rock Tools, East


This role will be responsible for driving profitable sales and look after services of Sandvik Rock Tools offering in close collaboration with Service and Equipment Business Lines.

Job Responsibilities

Business Growth and Development:

  • Drive the best EHS practices, identifying & reporting Hazard and working in-line with Sandvik way.
  • Achieve rock tools sales target with major focus on surface mining, underground mining, aggregate quarries, dimensional stone industry, water well and civil engineering, wherever applicable.
  • Grow the rock tools market share in the given territory by creating new customer base and enhancing existing customer share, without compromising on profitability.
  • Establish, develop and maintain customer relationships and loyalty through visits and correspondence for retail customer management.
  • Participate in seminars, exhibitions and contribute to other sales/marketing activities.
  • Track performance of rock tools in equipment which are in operation.
  • Mapping of business potential, product segmentation and creation of customer data base.
  • Chalk out long term action plan, review and follow up on regular basis.
  • Track the market share of rock tools (orders won-lost) in the assigned territory.
  • Execute field tests with the help of application engineers.
  • Identify, analyse and drive resolution of customer issues (warranty & non warranty) in consultation with application team.
  • Gather competitor information, evaluate and analyse the raw data and convert into information about our Sandvik / Competitor tools in the assigned territory.
  • Identify and explore new opportunities and focus untapped areas and establish new products through introduction of value-based sales concept.
  • Preparation of value-based sales proposals, negotiation and finalizing deals for long term annual rate contracts / CPM contracts with key account.
  • Effective communication/coordination with Key Account Manager / Business Line Manager.
  • Manage contract development to contract signature in conjunction with Commercial Management.
  • Ensure all contract / terms and conditions are in place to enable cash collection in line with Sandvik policy
  • Ensure CRM/ sales Tools is up to date with valid cases.
  • Effective planning of material at distributor network to secure each and every opportunity and work on Go to market concept.
  • Induction of new channel partners/stockiest to expand the reach while accelerating the business with existing channels.
  • Keeping control on receivables

Education / Experience:

  • B. Tech/BE with MBA will be added advantages.
  • 8-10 years of Sales experience.
  • Preferably worked with Consumable Industries like (Lubes, Battery, Tyres, Explosives, Hoses. etc)
