We are seeking a Sales Manager to be based in UB Head Office:
JOB PURPOSE:
Lead the Parts and Service sales function to deliver sustainable revenue growth, margin improvement, market share expansion, and strong customer outcomes across the assigned market. The role is accountable for translating strategy into execution through effective sales planning, pipeline management, commercial discipline, team leadership, and close collaboration with customers and internal stakeholders.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, commercial governance requirements, and delegation of authority, including the proper review and approval of quotations, agreements, and customer commitments.
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for Parts and Service in alignment with business objectives, customer needs, and market opportunities to drive profitable growth and increased market share.
- Build and maintain a high-quality sales pipeline across defined customer segments, ensuring opportunities are identified early, qualified effectively, and progressed in a disciplined manner.
- Lead account growth by strengthening relationships with existing customers, identifying new business opportunities, and positioning integrated parts and service solutions that improve customer performance.
- Drive disciplined use of CRM, sales analytics, and business insight tools to improve opportunity visibility, forecasting accuracy, customer coverage, and sales execution.
- Work with portfolio, product, and pricing stakeholders to identify gaps, growth opportunities, and customer requirements, and translate these into targeted commercial actions and portfolio initiatives.
- Support pricing strategy execution by monitoring price realization, margin performance, and discount discipline, and by providing sound commercial input on customer agreements and pricing decisions.
- Ensure key aftermarket and growth initiatives are implemented effectively, with clear ownership, follow-through, and measurable outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with service, operations, supply, finance, and other internal functions to develop customer strategies that improve revenue, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
- Deliver agreed sales targets and key performance indicators for revenue, gross margin, market share, and business growth within the assigned area of responsibility.
- Ensure pricing, quotations, and commercial offers are prepared and managed in line with approved frameworks, business strategy, and profitability expectations.
- Manage commercial performance by monitoring margins, cost recovery, contract performance, and the profitability of parts and service activities.
- Provide accurate sales forecasts, performance reporting, and recovery actions where results are below target.
- Maintain strong senior-level relationships with key customers and serve as a visible commercial leader in resolving business, service, and contractual matters.
- Provide clear directions and feedback to account managers and other sales team members on customer plans, sales actions, and opportunity development.
- Prepare and present regular sales, customer, and commercial performance reports to management, using dashboards and data-driven insights to support decision-making.
Your profile
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Business, Mining, or a related technical or commercial discipline is preferred.
- A relevant trade qualification combined with substantial mining aftermarket and commercial experience may be considered.
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in sales, business development, or aftermarket commercial roles within the mining or heavy equipment industry.
- Strong technical and commercial understanding of underground mobile mining equipment, aftermarket support models, and OEM service environments.
- Demonstrated experience in leading customer relationships, negotiating commercial outcomes, and managing key accounts at a senior level.
- Proven ability to lead teams, deliver against sales targets, manage forecasts, and drive performance improvement in a complex operating environment.
- Experience using CRM, reporting, and business systems to manage pipeline visibility, commercial performance, and decision-making.
- Tools and Systems: Salesforce CRM, Showpad, Workday, Aurora, Power BI, and Microsoft 365, or equivalent business systems.
