The Role:
To manage GET Underground Tooling and provide care & maintenance according to OEM specification & standards for ensuring cost effectiveness through:
- Managing subordinates effectively
- Stock availability
- Customer relations
- Cost effectiveness
- Safety, Health & Environmental Effectiveness
- This service is rendered to SMR's Rock Tools clients (internal and external) on and off mine site according to SMR and performance contract requirements.
Key Performance Areas
- Plan, prioritize, and schedule the onsite team’s activities so that resources are used effectively, and that work schedules and targets are met.
- Capture & record equipment changes and deviations
- Ensure refurbishment of Underground Tooling to extend Bit life
- Address all complaints & suggestions referring to equipment
- Attend and conduct safety meetings
- Identify causes of damage to GET
- Time keeping / management
- Check accuracy of meters documented & irregularities
- Equipment Inspections and advise customer on critical maintenance interventions
- Investigate equipment damage and submit technical reports
- Assist Area Manager with Rock Tools forecasting to prevent supply deficit
Your Profile:
- Must have a Diploma in Mining equivalent qualification
- Be in possession of a valid Class B driver’s license
- Having a minimum of 2 year’s Management/Supervisory experience
- Competency in all tasks relating to GET maintenance
- Ensure legal appointments are up to date
- Enforce correct disciplinary procedures
- Computer literacy (MS Packages)
- Certificate of Competence in GET Care & Maintenance
- English proficiency
- Full physical & medical certificate to work in mining environment
- Prior exposure to and knowledge of Sandvik Rock tool products being a distinct advantage
- Have minimum experience of 5 years on rock tools management, preferably in underground mining environment.
- Demonstrate good supervisory or leadership skills
- Experience in contract management or customer relations shall be an added advantage
- Good comprehension of the Botswana Mines Quarries and Machinery Act
