AUTO ELECTRICIAN SPECIALIST

Sandvik Mining and Construction DRC is a Sales Unit based in Lubumbashi within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, a Business Area and a leading supplier of equipment, tools, services, and support for the mining industry. We also provide solutions and expertise across a wide range of applications, including rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunnelling, and quarrying.

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Auto Electrician to join our Service team. This role is key to ensuring equipment reliability and delivering high-quality technical support to our customers in a demanding mining environment.

Your role

Business Growth and Development

  • Identifying opportunities for expanding services: Analysing market trends and customer needs to identify potential new services or areas of specialisation that can attract more customers and increase revenue.

  • Building and maintaining customer relationships: Providing excellent customer service, building trust with clients, and encouraging repeat business and referrals through positive interactions and quality work.

  • Networking and partnerships: Building relationships with other businesses, suppliers, or industry professionals to create partnerships that can lead to new business opportunities or collaborations.

  • Continuous learning and skill development: Staying updated on the latest automotive technologies, tools, and techniques to provide high-quality service and differentiate the mechanic shop from competitors.

Safety and Environment

  • Complies with Sandvik Mining EHS policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements.

  • Identifies and reports any unsafe work practices.

Personal Leadership

  • Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Sandvik Values, Policies, and Procedures.

  • Takes responsibility for personal development and enhancement of skills.

Your profile

  • Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Auto Electrical) with minimum 4 years’ experience

  • Experience in mining equipment (underground or surface) preferred

  • Exposure to Sandvik or other OEM equipment is an advantage

  • Strong knowledge of auto electrical systems and diagnostics

  • Ability to read and interpret technical schematics and drawings

  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems

  • Experience with equipment troubleshooting and repair tools

  • Knowledge of automation systems is an advantage

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently in demanding site environments

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Customer-oriented mindset
