HR Officer
HR OFFICER (Lubumbashi)
Sandvik Mining and Construction DRC is a Sales Unit based in Lubumbashi within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, a Business Area and a leading supplier of equipment, tools, services, and support for the mining industry. We also provide solutions and expertise across a wide range of applications, including rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunnelling, and quarrying.
We are currently seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Officer to support our HR operations and contribute to delivering high-quality HR services in a dynamic and fast-paced mining environment.
Your role
Employee Lifecycle Management
Support the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment coordination, onboarding, contract management, and offboarding
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR systems
Prepare HR documentation (contracts, letters, certificates)
Employee Relations & Compliance
Provide first-line support on employee queries and HR matters
Assist in handling disciplinary processes and grievance cases
Ensure compliance with DRC labour law and company policies
Support industrial relations activities where applicable
HR Operations & Reporting
Assist in preparing HR reports (headcount, turnover, absenteeism)
Support HR audits and ensure data integrity
Contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes
Recruitment & Talent Support
Support recruitment activities, including:
Job posting
Interview coordination
Candidate communication
Participate in onboarding and employee integration processes
Health & Safety
Support HR-related EHS initiatives
Ensure HR practices comply with Sandvik standards and regulations
Your profile
We are seeking an experienced HR professional with over 5 years of expertise in managing end-to-end HR operations, including recruitment, payroll administration, and employee relations. You possess a solid understanding of HR processes and DRC labour law, and demonstrate integrity, strong organisational skills, and a customer-focused approach. Proficiency in HR systems such as Workday is essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multicultural mining environment.
