At Sandvik's Turku site, we design and manufacture market-leading loaders and trucks for the underground mining industry while shaping the future of sustainable mining solutions. To strengthen our local Site Business Control Team, we are looking for an engaging and proactive Production Controller who is passionate about turning data into insights and insights into business value. In this role, you will work at the intersection of finance, operations and analytics, helping drive performance and continuous improvement across the production organization. The position is permanent and located in Turku, Finland.
About your job
As a Production Controller, you will play a key role in supporting operational excellence and profitability at the Turku Production Unit. Acting as a trusted business partner to production management, you will combine financial expertise, production understanding and data-driven insights to improve performance, efficiency and decision-making. You monitor production costs, unit costs, inventory impacts and cost efficiency, helping the organization identify opportunities, manage risks and improve profitability. You support decision-making by providing meaningful analyses, KPIs, performance evaluations, cost reports and business insights, both on a monthly basis and for ad hoc business needs. More than reporting numbers, you help transform data into actions. By identifying trends, improvement opportunities and performance drivers, you support continuous improvement and operational excellence across the production organization. You will also collaborate with other Load & Haul production units globally, gaining broad exposure to manufacturing operations and international business processes.
As a member of the local Business Control team, you participate in monthly closing activities, forecasting processes and various business development initiatives. Data analytics and performance monitoring are a significant part of the role. You will work with large datasets and develop reports, dashboards, KPIs and analyses that improve operational performance, increase transparency and support fact-based decision-making throughout the organization. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded professional who wants to have a visible impact on business performance in a global manufacturing environment.
About your skills and qualifications
You have a relevant educational background, such as a master's degree in finance, accounting, business, industrial engineering or a related field, together with a few years of experience in a similar controlling, finance or business analytics role, preferably in a manufacturing environment. You have a solid understanding of production processes, manufacturing cost structures, inventory valuation principles and cost accounting. Knowledge of accounting and financial processes is essential.
You are comfortable working with large datasets and have strong analytical skills. You have excellent skills in Excel and Power BI, and experience with data modelling and modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SQL or similar technologies is considered an advantage. Experience with ERP systems and business processes in a manufacturing environment is beneficial. Knowledge of Lean ERP is considered an advantage.
As a person, you are proactive, curious and solution-oriented. You combine strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail with the ability to understand the bigger picture and communicate complex topics in a clear and practical way. You are confident in challenging existing ways of working and using data to support continuous improvement and better business decisions. You have strong communication and collaboration skills and enjoy working closely with both operational and financial stakeholders in an international environment. Fluency in Finnish and English is required. We value individuals who take initiative, build strong relationships and can effectively prioritize their work while meeting deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
Join us and help shape the future of data-driven manufacturing by turning insights into actions that improve performance, efficiency and sustainable business growth.
