Position Overview:

The Senior GL Accountant is a key member of the Finance team responsible for independently managing accounting processes, overseeing general ledger integrity, and ensuring high‑quality financial reporting. This role plays a critical part in month‑end and year‑end closing, supports statutory reporting, and drives process improvements. The Senior GL Accountant also acts as a subject‑matter expert and provides guidance to junior accountants while partnering with cross‑functional teams to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end closing activities within the required timelines.
  • Prepare and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies proactively.
  • Manage advanced accounting areas such as revenue recognition, lease accounting, intercompany transactions, provisions, and fixed assets.
  • Ensure compliance with IFRS/GAAP, internal policies, and audit requirements.
  • Deliver detailed variance analysis, identifying financial trends and providing meaningful insights.
  • Assist in preparing statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
  • The role also includes coordinating treasury-related activities such as cash flow planning, bank documentation, and supporting global treasury requirements.
  • Support daily treasury functions including cash flow monitoring, forecasting, and liquidity management.
  • Maintain banking documentation and coordinate with banks for account openings, KYC updates, and signatory changes.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10–12 years’ experience in accounting, with strong exposure to balance sheet reconciliations and international environments.
  • Strong English skills highly preferred due to global coordination needs.
  • Proven track record in process improvement, compliance, and financial controls.
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and local statutory reporting.
  • Excellent understanding of IFRS/GAAP and financial controls.
