Position Overview:
The Tax Accountant is responsible for managing direct and indirect tax compliance for India, ensuring accurate and timely filing, and supporting tax planning and audit processes. The role also includes coordinating treasury-related activities such as cash flow planning, bank documentation, and supporting global treasury requirements. This position requires strong technical tax knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with external advisors, banks, and internal finance teams. Also need to support GL accountant who will be responsible for managing accounting processes, overseeing general ledger integrity, and ensuring high‑quality financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end compliance for GST, TDS/TCS, Income Tax, and other statutory tax requirements.
- Ensure timely filing of monthly, quarterly, and annual returns (e.g., GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, TDS returns, Advance Tax calculations).
- Review and reconcile tax ledgers, ensure accuracy of tax provisions and payments.
- Support preparation of tax audit documentation, transfer pricing reports, and statutory audit requirements.
- Liaise with external tax consultants and authorities on assessments, notices, and queries.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Indian tax laws and regulatory changes and assess business impact.
- Support daily treasury functions including cash flow monitoring, forecasting, and liquidity management.
- Maintain banking documentation and coordinate with banks for account openings, KYC updates, and signatory changes.
- Support global or regional treasury teams with data, analysis, and compliance documentation.
- Prepare tax-related journal entries and perform reconciliations for GST, TDS, and other tax accounts.
- Ensure proper documentation and record retention for all tax and treasury activities.
- Supports and trains the business units regarding income tax accounting policies and procedures.
- Maintain banking documentation and coordinate with banks for account openings, KYC updates, and signatory changes.
Requirements:
- Minimum 8–10 years’ experience in accounting, with strong understanding of GST, Income Tax, TDS/TCS, and applicable Indian tax regulations.
- Strong English skills highly preferred due to global coordination needs.
- Proven track record in process improvement, compliance, and financial controls.
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and local statutory reporting.
- Familiarity with treasury processes or bank coordination is desirable.
- Experience working with multinational companies or shared service environments is an advantage.

- Smooth coordination between tax, treasury, and GL teams, supporting overall financial accuracy and control.
- Recognition as a trusted tax subject‑matter expert within the Finance function and wider organization.
