Currently, we have an opening for an EHS Governance & Sustainability Specialist. As the Specialist, you are responsible for driving continuous improvement in Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) performance through strong governance, data-driven decision making, and sustainability initiatives. You act as a key point of contact across workshops, warehouses, and remote service operations, ensuring the effective deployment, compliance, and continuous evolution of Sandvik’s EHS management systems and processes.

What you will be doing
- Lead and support audits, compliance reviews, to ensure alignment with applicable EHS legislation, internal standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the EHS Management System (aligned to ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
- Drive governance of key EHS processes,
- Promote a strong safety culture by supporting training initiatives and reinforcing safe work practices across all operations.
- Ensure accurate, timely data management within Sandvik systems (e.g., EHS360), including reporting, tracking, and communication of performance metrics.
- Act as a point of contact for employees and leaders regarding EHS processes, expectations, and compliance obligations.
- Support sustainability initiatives aligned with corporate and regulatory expectations (environmental performance, reporting, and continuous improvement).
- Participate in internal and external audits and ensure appropriate follow-up and closure of findings.
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned by manager.
Safety and Environment

What you will bring along
- Five (5) years of experience in Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) within industrial or high-risk environments.
- Experience working with Environmental, Health & Safety Management Systems.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Canadian EHS legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience conducting incident investigations using ICAM or similar methodologies.
- Experience performing risk assessments, including Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards and audit requirements.
- Experience in policy development, training design, and program implementation.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Proficiency with data management and reporting tools, including Microsoft Excel (Power Query), Power BI, and other business intelligence tools.
- Strong organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in both French and English is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
