Job Summary: The Product & Applications Specialist- Solid Carbide Round Tools leads product strategy and lifecycle management while serving as the technical authority for product application. This role ensures that products are designed, positioned, launched, and supported based on real customer requirements, competitive benchmarks, and application performance data. By integrating product management and application engineering, this role accelerates time to market, improves quoting responsiveness, and strengthens customer confidence in GWS solutions. This role requires close coordination across multifunctional teams to support and accelerate sales growth.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Own and manage assigned product lines throughout the product lifecycle, from concept to end of life

  • Serve as the technical authority for assigned products, materials, and target applications

  • Define product strategy, positioning, and roadmap aligned with company and market objectives

  • Gather and prioritize product requirements using customer feedback, application results, market research, and competitive analysis

  • Lead or support new product introductions, enhancements, and product rationalization efforts

  • Monitor product performance, adoption, and profitability; recommend corrective or improvement actions

  • Analyze customer machining requirements and define optimal tooling, cutting parameters, and strategies

  • Generate cutting data, cycle time estimates, simulations, and application documentation

  • Design and execute test applications, including customer specific parts and representative features

  • Support post‑sales implementation through troubleshooting, optimization, and training

  • Deliver technical training and knowledge transfer to customers and internal teams

  • Participate in customer visits, trials, demos, and key account support activities

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as mechanical or manufacturing engineering

  • Proven experience (5 years) in manufacturing

  • Advanced application knowledge and experience in metal cutting

  • Desired CAD/CAM- AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Siemens NX and/or Mastercam

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills of basic manufacturing processes

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds at a time

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer

    • Ability to drive or fly to all facilities

    Other Information

    • Travel is required (desired 25%), domestic and international
