The Role

We are seeking a proactive Service Engineer- Mobile Crushers & Screens to provide hands-on technical support and service for crushers and screens and aftermarket parts for our Mobile Crushers and Screens customers in West Africa. Work closely with local teams and customers to promote and optimize the performance of installed mobile crushers and ensure reliable operation through troubleshooting, maintenance and customer training.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Ensuring and promoting a safe working environment through effective participation in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), risk assessments, toolbox talks, and full compliance with customer, site, and OEM safety standards.
  • Delivering high-level technical support and customer training on Sandvik mobile crushers, screens, scalpers, conveyors, and material handling equipment across West Africa.
  • Leading the installation, assembly, commissioning, testing, performance validation, and final handover of Sandvik mobile equipment in accordance with OEM specifications.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults on jaw, cone, and impact crushers, feeders, conveyors, screens, bearings, diesel engines, and wear components to maximize equipment uptime.
  • Conducting advanced troubleshooting and repairs on hydraulic systems using technical schematics, including pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, lubrication, and pressure circuits.
  • Diagnosing and resolving electrical and control system faults involving soft starters, PLCs, HMIs, sensors, relays, contactors, VFDs, emergency stop systems, motors, CAN BUS networks, and control panels.
  • Executing preventive maintenance programs, emergency breakdown response, shutdown support, inspections, calibrations, and continuous reliability improvement initiatives.
  • Supervise, coach, and coordinate technicians, contractors, and customer maintenance personnel during field service activities while ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to OEM standards.
  • Preparing detailed service reports, recommend spare and wear parts replacement strategies, identify aftermarket opportunities, and maintain strong customer relationships through professional service delivery.
  • Be capable of driving manual transmission vehicles for remote site visits, hold a valid driver’s license and international passport, deliver operator training, and travel extensively within West Africa to support customer operations.

Qualification & Competencies

  • Minimum Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronic or Automation Engineering with 3 years’ experience or equivalent trade certificate with 5 years’ experience with proven supervisory experience gained in a maintenance environment
  • Knowledge of Hyrocone Crusher and Rock Breakers with understanding of electrics, hydraulics and mechanics would be advantage
  • Ability to drive with driving Licence ‘B’
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and provide guidance to members of the team
  • Strong business sense
  • Previous supervisory experience would be an advantage
  • Some level of computer literacy would be an advantage
