Job Summary:

The Process Engineer is responsible for supporting advanced manufacturing operations through capital investment projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and daily technical support. This role collaborates closely with R&D, global production units, and suppliers to maintain and enhance production technologies while supporting new product development. Key responsibilities include improving quality and productivity, driving corrective actions, ensuring equipment reliability, and reducing production costs. The position also plays an active role in training, documentation, and compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards, contributing to the overall success and performance of the Inserts Plant.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage capital investment projects to maintain advanced production technologies and support new product development in collaboration with R&D and other Insert production units.

  • Provide daily technical support to production teams, resolving issues related to equipment, processes, product performance, and quality.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by participating in and leading projects that improve insert quality and increase productivity.

  • Coordinate the closure of customer Corrective Action Requests by performing root cause analysis and implementing effective countermeasures to prevent recurrence.

  • Collaborate with global production units, production technology centers, and local and international suppliers, including occasional business travel.

  • Support the achievement of plant operational goals and individual performance objectives.

  • Develop and maintain work instructions and take a leading role in technical training for production teams.

  • Communicate and collaborate effectively within the process engineering team and with production departments.

  • Ensure all processes comply with applicable standards, directives, and environmental, health, and safety regulations.

  • Maintain compliance with site-certified ISO quality, safety, and environmental management systems.

  • Promote and demonstrate strong safety leadership, including adherence to 5S principles, cleanliness, and workplace organization.

  • Ensure machinery and equipment reliability and performance by working closely with Maintenance and vendors on preventive maintenance, improvements, and TPM initiatives.

  • Reduce production costs through alternative sourcing, improved maintenance strategies, enhanced work methods, and increased process reliability.

  • Support and motivate a high-performing production team through active involvement, leadership, and role modeling.

  • Perform additional duties as required to support the overall success and advancement of the Inserts Plant, as assigned by management.

Education and Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in industrial or mechanical engineering, or a requirement of a minimum of 3 years of practical experience in process engineering & automation process, knowledge & experience with lean manufacturing/Six Sigma and project management.

  • Must possess a systematic & logical approach to problem-solving techniques with production leaders and workers, and good interpersonal & communication skills, while maintaining agreed deadlines.

  • Organized self-starter and quick learner who possesses an innovative spirit, strong teamwork skills, and willing to manage a few projects at the same time.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication abilities.

  • Systematic and logical problem-solving approach, with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

  • Highly accurate, consistent, organized, and detail-oriented in all work assignments.

  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement principles is preferred.

  • Positive attitude with a willingness to take on challenges and drive results.

  • Flexibility to support multiple roles and assume additional responsibilities as business needs evolve.

  • Strong commitment to fostering and supporting a proactive safety culture.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Lightwork that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds at a time.
