Material and Process Engineer

Shape the future of wear material development at business area Rock Processing in Svedala. As a Material and Process Engineer, you contribute across the full development cycle, combining scientific analysis, hands-on testing, and continuous process improvement to advance our materials and manufacturing capabilities.

Your mission
You take part in all stages of wear material development and process improvement activities. The position combines material research, foundry collaboration, testing, analysis, and project reporting, creating a broad and impactful scope within material development.

Job responsibilities

  • Perform theoretical analysis of new material compositions.
  • Plan, prepare, and participate in test casting activities.
  • Review current foundry ways of working and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Conduct microstructure analysis and evaluate material performance.
  • Collaborate closely with external material laboratories on testing activities, including ductility, hardness, and wear ratio measurements.
  • Prepare, follow up, present, and report progress from development and customer test projects.

Your profile
You’re motivated by combining scientific expertise with practical application and continuous improvement. Working across different stages of development, you enjoy turning analysis and testing results into valuable insights and improvements.

Your background includes

  • Master’s degree in Materials Science or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of material analysis and material characterization.
  • Experience or interest in material development and process improvement activities.
  • Ability to collaborate with both internal stakeholders and external laboratories.
  • Confidence in presenting and reporting project progress.

Success in this position comes from a curious and analytical mindset combined with a structured way of working. You’re collaborative, proactive, and comfortable moving between technical investigations, practical testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
