Senior Design Engineer

Our Underground Drilling Division Development Drills team is currently looking for a proactive Senior Design Engineer. The role is full-time, permanent and located in Tampere (Myllypuro), Finland.

The Underground Drilling division within Business area Mining is an industry leading global provider of drilling equipment for underground mining and tunneling industry with focus on technology development and future innovative solutions to enable sustainable operations for our customers. Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy’s Tampere site is a global technology and manufacturing center for Underground Drilling equipment.

Your mission

As a Senior Design Engineer, you are part of the design team, developing variety of components, modules and subsystems for the underground drills product family based on customer needs. You take care of the implementation of our modularity and value engineering principles at different design stages and develop our vision of the overall future concept. Main responsibility area are vehicle driveline system and its components. You work closely with driveline component suppliers, other application teams and engineering functions, testing, manufacturing, product support and spare parts sales.

Your background and what we find important

We are looking for a person who have a suitable technical education (M.Sc. or Engineer) and several years of design experience in developing new concepts and mechanical components. You work independently, actively and on a long-term basis. As an advantage we consider your previous experience in mobile machine design tasks, driveline systems and the use of NX and Teamcenter programs. Fluent spoken and written English is expected, and Finnish language skill is considered as an advantage.
