Innovation and R&D

A man at a desk with a microscope and two monitors

Our innovations have a significant impact on vital processes in industries like mining, infrastructure, aerospace and automotive. Sandvik technologies for metal cutting and rock excavation, for example, have helped customers enhance productivity for decades.

Today, we have ongoing R&D programs in several areas. Examples are:

  • Mining automation and electrification
  • Energy-efficient crushing and screening
  • Digital manufacturing

Sustainability-driving innovations

To reach our sustainability goals we have, for example, defined improved resource efficiency and reduced CO2 emissions to be part of all R&D projects. We have also created an ideas hub where all employees can easily contribute with their ideas and innovations.
