Are you an innovative HR professional with a passion for driving results in a fast-paced, operational environment? We have an exciting opportunity for a Human Resource Officer to join our dynamic team in Bamako, Mali. In this role, you will play a key part in managing the full HR function, contributing to strategic initiatives, and supporting our commitment to operational excellence and employee well-being.
The HR Officer will be responsible for the smooth and effective day to day running of the HR function. He/she oversees the complete employee life cycle from hire to retire, ensures smooth implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives in line with the organizational goals.. The role holder is also required to support the company’s Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality objectives by promoting compliance and best practices across the business.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Oversee the full cycle recruitment process, including job postings, interviews, coordination with hiring managers, onboarding, and evaluating the effectiveness of hiring practices.
- Monitor and ensure timely renewal of fixed-term contracts.
- Ensure all HR-related forms and documentation are accurately completed and processed in line with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of labour laws and HR legal requirements to minimize risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Act as the custodian of employee data, ensuring accurate and secure records are maintained in the Company’s HRIS .
- Ensure non-national employees possess valid work and residence permits in compliance with immigration regulations.
- Manage local content compliance processes in accordance with national requirements.
- Support and manage internal communication efforts to promote organizational updates and employee engagement.
- Organize and coordinate company events, meetings, and employee engagement activities.
Qualification
- A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. HR professional qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Resources, preferably within a multinational or fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in both English and French is required.
- Experience in the mining or extractive industry is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of HR principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and people management skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
- Proactive, business-oriented, and consultative approach to HR support.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong business sense and understanding of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) considerations.
- A team player with the ability to provide guidance within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with Workday HRIS is an added advantage.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Strong business sense and EHS focus.
