Tools Sales and Support Representative –Pooraka, South Australia

About the opportunity

The Tools Sales and Support Representative plays a key role in promoting the sale, service, and aftermarket support of Sandvik’s Top Hammer, Down the Hole (DTH), and Rotary drilling consumables.

Supporting a diverse customer base—including underground and surface hard rock mines, coal mines, and construction sites such as quarries—the TSSR focuses on retaining existing business while identifying opportunities for growth.

This role requires regular travel to customer sites within the region, and occasionally interstate, to provide on-site support and strengthen customer relationships. Success in this role demands strong communication skills, attention to detail, technical aptitude, and a customer-first mindset to effectively promote and support Sandvik’s drilling solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the Rock Tools Sales Manager and Account Managers to support existing customers and identify opportunities for business growth.
  • Collaborate with Product Support Managers and technical specialists to address quality, delivery, and supply issues, and support product development initiatives.
  • Conduct regular site visits to deliver technical support, operator training, product trials, and performance evaluations across Top Hammer, DTH, and Rotary consumables.
  • Prepare and submit monthly reports including business analysis, market activity, and stock forecasts by product and customer.
  • Assist in developing pricing strategies, sales budgets, and business plans to secure new sales and retain current business.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by ensuring timely product delivery, offering value-driven solutions, and supporting drilling operations.
  • Investigate and report on used product performance, including failure analysis and continuous improvement recommendations.
  • Work hands-on with operators and Drill & Blast teams to understand site practices and improve drilling tool performance.
  • Manage warranty claims in line with company procedures and maintain accurate financial oversight of customer accounts and invoicing.
  • Travel regularly to mine sites, quarries, and construction sites across the region; physical fitness and a proactive approach to learning are essential.

About you

You have 2 plus years of drilling experience in Surface and/or Underground mining, along with a solid understanding of blast hole drilling tools and accessories as an advantage. With a strong customer service focus, you bring sales or account management experience within the mining industry and are confident working independently. You’re commercially astute, solutions-focused, and understand value selling. Your strong interpersonal and communication skills allow you to build relationships at all levels, and you bring energy, professionalism, honesty, and a high level of technical aptitude to everything you do.
