Your performance areas:

The Systems Engineer II position is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and test sets for battery and module testing for BHEV batteries used in mining vehicles. Identify and select appropriate sensors for production, testing, validation, and reporting for the battery production process.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Analyze and interpret technical data related to battery systems and their performance.
  • Provide electrical engineering support and solutions for service, production, and suppliers.
  • Coordinate building and testing of components, assemblies, and electric batteries for mining vehicles.
  • Encourage new and innovative design concepts, inventions, patents, and product opportunities for improvement.
  • Responsible for research and development (R&D) prototyping projects.
  • Utilize knowledge of internal battery control systems to focus on electrical system design of battery systems for production volumes.
  • Read, analyze, and design schematics and electrical engineering drawings. Comply with CANbus physical layer and protocols and utilize diagnostic tools such as Kvaiser, PCAN-view.
  • Use scripting languages to create and modify tools used by engineering teams, including Python, Matlab/Simulink, LabVIEW.
  • Engage in battery modeling and ensure that designs and documentation of components and systems meet specified technical customer demands, product safety, legislative requirements, industry standards and regulations related to industrial harnesses for mining vehicles, specifically BHEV batteries.
  • Create documentation for engineering, manufacturing, and aftermarket, and provide support and engineering solutions for service, production, and suppliers.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and three (3) years of experience as Electrical Systems Engineer, Systems Engineer I, or Electrical Engineer.
  • The required three (3) years of experience must have included mining vehicle prototype development and low voltage wiring harness design, documentation, and system level schematics.

Salary: $105,000 - $136,620/year
