About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Quality Manager to lead the Quality function for our Rotary Blasthole Drill Assembly operation. This role is responsible for developing and leading a robust quality organization that ensures product integrity, supplier performance, and compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, deep manufacturing quality expertise, and experience in heavy equipment or complex manufacturing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a quality team, building technical capability and accountability.

  • Oversee incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities to ensure product conformity.

  • Lead supplier qualification, performance improvement and corrective action processes.

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce defects and cost of poor quality.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and internal Quality Management System requirements.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain to improve process capability and product quality.

  • Monitor and report key quality metrics including FPY, Defects per rig, supplier PPM, COPQ, Rework, and warranty trends.

  • Ensure compliance with welding, machining, fabrication, assembly, and final inspection requirements.

Job Candidate Requirements:

  • Ability to work in the U.S. on an indefinite basis without sponsorship

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing required).

  • 8–12+ years of experience in manufacturing quality within heavy equipment, automotive, or industrial equipment.

  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing engineers and frontline quality personnel.

  • Strong background in complex mechanical assemblies, hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and large structural weldments.

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional problem-solving initiatives.

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in Engineering or Business.

  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Certified Quality Manager (CQM)

  • Six Sigma Certification

    Technical Skills & Competencies

    • Strong data analysis capabilities (Excel, PowerBI or similar)

    • Root Cause Analysis (8D, Fishbone, 5-Why)

    • Metrology and inspection systems

    • Knowledge of welding standards (AWS/ASME preferred)
