The role

Reporting to the Regional Planning and Logistics Manager, the Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day expediting of supply processes throughout the Sandvik Systems and people responsible for each link in the chain. This will include, but is not limited to managing input, communicating priorities with freight forwarders, coordination of inbound and/or outbound logistical operations, inventory management, warehousing and transportation to ensure sufficient supply of goods and products and updating of pipeline status.

This role is a full-time requirement, however Sandvik recognises the desire for flexible working options. Flexible employment arrangements include condensed working weeks, working from home, flexible start/finish times, etc.

Areas of responsibility

  • Orders Management, suspension, resourcing and expediting.

  • Review the status of purchase orders from the production unit and stock transfer orders between sales area stock rooms. Highlight associated supply gaps to planners.

  • Monitor inventory at designated stock rooms against demand and escalate redistribution to maintain continuous customer supply.

  • Monitor items on outstanding sales orders, goods in transit and low stock reports and expedite/update statuses as required.

  • Resolve inbound discrepancies (short shipments, wrong or damaged parts, inadequate paperwork etc.)

  • Process advanced shipping notes from suppliers.

  • Process returns to SMCL from regional stocks.

  • Support the demand planners with the supply chain flow as required.

  • Act upon LPS/E-mail requests (expediting, item price and availability etc.) from the regions.

Your profile

You will have at least 3 years’ experience within the logistics/supply chain industry and have excellent communication skills with the ability to work with multiple stakeholders and shifting priorities. You have a strong understanding of excel functionality and experience in customer service. You will have experience or working knowledge of Aurora, Voyager, DI System21, LPS and/or SAP. You are a natural problem solver and able to escalate possible supply issues when necessary.
