SMS Logistics

SMS Logistics ensures that any product, ordered anywhere in the world, arrives at our customers in time, in perfect condition, with the lowest possible impact on the environment and in compliance with all international laws and regulations – at the lowest possible cost for Sandvik Manufacturing and Machining Solutions (SMM). At the Distribution Center in Schiedam, we distribute products within the EMEA Region.

We are now looking for a Supervisor Export for 40 hours per week (1 FTE). Location will be the European Distribution Center in Schiedam, the Netherlands.

Main responsibilities

As Supervisor Export you will lead a small, informal and no-nonsense team of 3 enthusiastic Export Employees. The work consists of 20% leadership and 80% operational activities. Together with the team you take care of the (export) shipments including the required export documents. You take care of the daily administration and maintain contact with the carriers and customers. In case of unexpected situations, you consult with colleagues in the warehouse regarding the closing of shipments. Your primary responsibility is to ensure that the export team sends the shipments from our DC on time and with the correct documents. In this role you will report to the Market Support Manager.

Your profile

We are looking for a new full-time colleague who has at least 5 years of experience in preparing export shipments and the related export documentation (CMR/ Airway bill/ EUR1/ Certificate of Origin/ EXA etc.), who has knowledge and experience of formalities and customs procedures and who has at least 2 years of experience in a managerial role, within an industrial environment.

You have affinity with SAP and WMS system and you have at least a completed MBO-4 relevant education.

You are enthusiastic and have a desire to meet and exceed goals and want to work on continuous improvement while maintaining a high level of performance. We are looking for an employee who takes responsibility for own development and growth and supports colleagues in their development.

You have the ability to build relationships within an international environment.

You are also accurate, proactive and have a service-oriented attitude. Furthermore, you are a strong communicator and you speak and write well in Dutch and English.
