Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for an Operations Manager for PNG, based in Lae. The role is responsible for developing and establishing Service Operations within the PNG region for Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions. The role is responsible for ensuring that the right people, culture, systems, tools and processes are in place to ensure that business can be conducted effectively and efficiently. This role will involve regular travel within PNG.
As the Operations Manager, you will be
Establishing the Customer Service Centre (CSC) in Lae and contract sites in PNG, in line with Sales Area APAC strategy.
Working with the Area Manager Pacific Islands to develop Strategic Business growth plans for PNG.
Responsible to evaluate and resolve technical issues at customer sites and liaise with the relevant Parts & Services contacts around Sandvik in APAC region.
Working with the customers to identify solutions to meet customer needs, and forecast the support required.
Liaising with local suppliers and relevant authorities that will support the operations of the CSC.
Responsible for the development of sales opportunities across the entire product range of Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions portfolio.

You have a Technical Trade Qualification, Engineering degree or equivalent qualification, plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience in an aftermarket supervisory role.
Extensive experience in the Sandvik product range, systems and other mining equipment is essential to support the customer base, coupled with your excellent customer service skills. As you will be working autonomously, previous experience in running a workshop and/or field service operation will be a necessity. You have a strong commitment to EHS as you keep safety at the forefront of everything you do.
