HEAD OF PRODUCTION – ROCK TOOLS INDIA
For Sandvik Mining and Rock Technology (SMRT) and division Rock Tools, we’re now looking for a Head of our production units in Patancheru and Pune, India. About the job
Joining us in this position, you have the overall responsibility for our sites in Patancheru and Pune, and the job includes a mix of delivering on daily operational targets and leading the way for our long term strategic development. To ensure quality, on-time delivery and productivity, you implement plans and execute relevant activities that manage our production objectives, enhance our market position and meet our financial goals.
You also establish a proactive, open minded and collaborative organization, where health, safety and sustainability are vital parts of our operations and culture - always!
You actively work to improve our units and drive development and advancement in important areas such as production, digitalization, diversity, inclusion and sustainability. People involvement is a cornerstone in everything we do, and you create transparency and strong engagement among our employees. We also expect you to further strengthen customer focus, skills and collaboration, and you establish solid networks with relevant partners and stakeholders, as well as with the regional sales area, the country organization, trade unions and local authorities.
You report to the Vice President of Global Operations and are a valued member of our management team. You are also a board member of our holding company in India (SMRT India Private Limited) and an important part of the India country organization. This job is a local contract and you’re based in Patancheru, with monthly presence at the site in Pune, and as we’re a global business, some international travel is included.
We’re looking for an experienced business leader, with an engineering industry background formed within manufacturing and operations. You have preferably led other managers, has exposure from production facilities in cross-functional and intercultural settings and you have previous experience from working with global teams and stakeholders. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or similar improvement methodologies is necessary, and you’re passionate about breaking new grounds when it comes to employee safety, diversity, inclusion, collaboration and sustainability. Equally important is to understand business drivers, and how to transform a vision into a strong activity plan to reach our full potential. A relevant technical or business degree is of course beneficial and you must be fluent in English, while understanding of the Hindi and Telugu languages are advantageous.
