Manufacturing Director
We at Sandvik Rock Processing are the leading supplier of equipment and services for the mining and construction industry. At our Lahti site we engineer and manufacture industry leading hydraulic hammers and other hydraulic attachments for maximum productivity.
We are looking for an experienced and energetic Manufacturing Director to lead our hydraulic breakers manufacturing and Lahti site. This position based in Lahti, Finland.
Your role
In this role you will be part of the Attachment Tools Division management team. You will lead and develop our manufacturing strategy for our world known breakers manufactured in Lahti Finland. You analyze market demand in alignment with sales and can translate it to volume plans and tactics to manage right capacity and resource level to meet customer expectations. You create long-term production development and investments plans and can implement them effectively. You lead and continuously develop our way of working (e.g. safety, quality, customer satisfaction, productivity, and efficiency) in our manufacturing. You develop and secure competencies and resourcing for our future success. You lead the local site management team of Lahti site.
Your key responsibilities
Lead environment, health, safety and forming zero harm culture of Lahti site.
Lead and coach manufacturing operations and site team in Lahti
Define and implement long term manufacturing strategy, investments and competence plans for Lahti site and for divisions.
Analyze and understand market breakers and spare parts demand to manage Lahti site volumes, resourcing to meet customer requirements.
Ensure and develop customer satisfaction, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency of manufacturing and operations in Lahti.
Ensure long term manufacturing competencies for breaker’s center of excellence to meet customer requirements and technology transformation.
Analyze and understand technology trends in manufacturing and in offering (e.g. electrification and digitalization) and their implications into future operations together with stakeholders.
Ensure participation in new product development and introduction of new models into manufacturing.
Act as Site manager, lead local Site management team and oversee all functions at the site.
Key KPI’s for the role are: safety, lead time, volume development, on time delivery, quality, cost
Your profile
We’re looking for someone with a demonstrated history of effectively leading manufacturing operations to achieve profitable business growth while maintaining a strong customer focus. You will have at least five years of experience in manufacturing/operations, experience with machining is considered a benefit. You have strong leadership skills and proven track record on leading change and good performance, productivity, and safety in shopfloor. You are energetic with good communication skills and ability to build collaboration across organizations. As you will operate with different levels of the organization fluency in Finnish and English language skills is needed.
