Training Specialist

Sandvik Mining develops and produces products and services for our customers’ drilling, rock reinforcement, hauling, loading and mechanical cutting, as well as mine automation needs, worldwide. Our HR & D Department’s Freeport Site serve underground loaders & trucks, drill, rockbreaker, etc through our competent Service Technician.

We might have a suitable job for you: to strengthen our Technical Training team we are currently looking for a proactive and dynamic Training Specialist to be based in Timika, Freeport Site Papua.

As a Training Specialist, your main tasks include the following:

Plan, design, and provide training & assessment to our internal & external stakeholders
Conduct live trainings session in person or virtually.
Develop and create training materials, manuals
Develop training aids, demonstration models for hands-on training and classroom handouts.
Create simulator training package and curriculum for simulator-based training.
Coordinate administrative functions necessary to deliver and document training programs.
Collaborate with Service Managers, Planners, Engineers, and support teams to stay current on product changes and updates.
Evaluate effectiveness of training and development programs, track data and prepare monthly reports.
Customize training content based on audience needs, roles, and skill levels.
Identify and assess training requirements by evaluating the weaknesses and strengths through the gaps analysis/training need analysis
Design annual training programs and prepare coaching plans.

Your profile

You have a suitable technical education (e.g. B.Sc., Diploma, Degree) with relevant work experience in training, competency development and technical support on heavy equipment area. Since you act as a technical training specialist, you also possess knowledge of mining environment, heavy equipment application specifically in load & haul, drilling, crushing equipment along with technical knowledge in engines, electrics, hydraulics, and powertrain. You have a good understanding of both training tools & assessment methods. You also have extensive know-how of learning principles, design, develop, implement, evaluate training plans curriculum and instructional design theory.
