Site Manager / Site Support Coordinator

Job Summary

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Site Manager based in Batu Hijau, Sumbawa.

This position is responsible for Sandvik operational in Batu Hijau, to support DR412i

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operational & Machine Availability

  • Ensure machine availability KPIs are achieved in line with contractual targets and Sandvik standards.

  • Oversee daily drilling equipment operations to ensure efficiency, reliability, and compliance with approved procedures.

  • Ensure operational and maintenance strategies are implemented consistently to support operational excellence.

2. Maintenance & Reliability Management

  • Ensure effective execution of preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance in accordance with Sandvik guidelines.

  • Minimize unplanned downtime through proper planning, monitoring, and root cause failure analysis.

  • Coordinate closely with Technical Support and Supervisors to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

3. Spare Parts Availability & Inventory Control

  • Ensure spare parts availability to support uninterrupted operations and maintenance activities.

  • Control and optimize inventory value while maintaining required service levels.

  • Ensure spare parts planning, usage, and control comply with Sandvik policies and procedures.

4. Spare Parts Forecasting & PO Management

  • Ensure accurate spare parts forecasting for a minimum 6-month period based on equipment utilization, maintenance plans, and historical consumption.

  • Coordinate spare parts planning with maintenance, warehouse, supply chain, and commercial teams.

  • Ensure there are no bottlenecks in the Purchase Order (PO) process, both from the customer side and internal Sandvik processes.

  • Monitor PO progress from forecasting, requisition, approval, delivery, and site readiness.

  • Ensure internal readiness in terms of stock availability, lead time management, and logistics coordination.

5. Cost & Budget Control

  • Control operational and maintenance costs to remain within approved budgets.

  • Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising safety, quality, or equipment reliability.

  • Conduct regular cost performance reviews and report deviations to management.

6. Customer Relationship & Communication

  • Act as the primary Sandvik representative on site and maintain effective, professional communication with the customer.

  • Ensure customer expectations are met and operational issues are addressed promptly.

  • Provide regular performance reports covering availability, cost, safety, and improvement initiatives.

7. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

  • Ensure all operational and maintenance activities are conducted safely and in full compliance with Sandvik HSE standards and site regulations.

  • Promote a strong zero-harm safety culture through leadership, coaching, and strict adherence to safe work procedures.

  • Ensure risk assessments, permits to work, and safety controls are implemented and followed.

8. Team Leadership & Development

  • Ensure all team members work in a safe, disciplined, and productive manner.

  • Develop and execute team development plans, including training, coaching, and competency improvement.

  • Conduct performance reviews and support continuous professional growth of site personnel.

9. Business Development & Growth Opportunities

  • Identify and develop additional business opportunities, including rock tools, consumables, and service-related offerings.

  • Support opportunities for new equipment sales through technical input and close collaboration with sales teams.

  • Provide operational insights to strengthen Sandvik’s long-term partnership with the customer.

10. Compliance & Sandvik Standards

  • Ensure full compliance with Sandvik operational, maintenance, and governance standards.

  • Act as a role model for Sandvik values, policies, and continuous improvement culture.

  • Ensure all site activities align with the Sandvik Way and contractual obligations.

COLLABORATION WITH OTHER BUSINESS LINE

  • As the matrix organization you will be collaborating with many people within Sandvik in both global and SEA regions, including Business Line Managers and factories in Tampere and Alachua.

  • Direct report to Service Manager and indirectly to Parts & Service Manager and Territory Manager

  • Rock tools division in Territory

  • Business Lines Manager in South East Asia

  • Regularly review EHS performance metrics and lead improvement initiatives based on trends, audits, and incidents.

  • Ensure effective communication of EHS priorities and expectations to all employees, contractors, and stakeholders.

  • Demonstrate exemplary EHS behavior and ensure the organization complies with Sandvik global EHS Policy, ISO 14001/45001, and SMKP requirements.

  • Empower all employees to stop and report any work that appears unsafe or could cause harm, without fear of retaliation.

PREFERRED ENVIRONMENT & MOBILITY

  • Field - Any environment (Location Customer Sites / Workshops).

  • Willing to travel globally within Sandvik area and/or from site to site within country of Indonesia.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Over 4 years of experience in maintenance, ideally in the mining or heavy equipment industry.

  • Proven track record in Maintain site support (Parts and Manpower)

  • Have knowledge and experience with Sandvik Rotary Drill I Series

  • Intermediate English proficiency (CEFR Level B1).
