We are now looking for a Field Service Technician to join the team remotely in England.

Job summary

As a Field Service Technician, you are regarded as a technical expert to help customers with their products and operations. In Service and Parts Sales, the Service Technician has the most important role. Proactive communication with customers helps to define the customer’s needs during the lifecycle and to offer optimum solution of equipment, spare parts and services.

Key performance areas include putting safety first, considering and taking responsible actions with environmental health and safety aspects. The role will involve preparing and executing equipment maintenance, servicing and repairing tasks based on customer needs. Working independently and cost effectively to evaluate, troubleshoot and repair the customers’ equipment. You will be involved in commissioning new equipment and introducing customers to equipment technology and application. You will ensure communication and reporting on maintenance and service work are carried out, producing descriptive and professional feedback alongside, communicating customer needs to ensure further Customer Services and Equipment sales.

Travel with overnight stays and frequent weekend working form part of this role.

Your profile

It is essential that the successful candidate has a strong EHS understanding and culture, with excellent written communication skills for completing Take5/risk assessment job sheets and equipment reports. You must have a flexible approach to working hours and overtime, including weekend working to suit the customer/business needs. Your background will be from technical trade school education in engineering/plant maintenance to minimum NVQ level 3 or equivalent and/or extensive experience as a Plant Service Engineer or similar. In addition to good practical and theoretical understanding you will combine this with excellent communication and social skills. An ability to work independently is a must, coupled with confidence in dealing with customers.
