Sandvik Mining is a global leader in equipment, tools, parts, service, and technical solutions for the mining and construction industries—and we’re seeking a Service Manager to lead our service operations in Elko, NV.

Key Performance Areas:

The Service Manager is responsible for leading a team of Field Service Managers to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of maintenance, repair, and technical services across Nevada and Utah. This role drives excellence in service, operational performance, and customer satisfaction through strategic leadership, resource optimization, and cross-functional collaboration.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, coach, and mentor a team of Field Service Managers, fostering professional development, accountability, and continuous improvement.

  • Oversee service delivery performance, ensuring alignment with Sandvik’s safety, quality, and operational standards.

  • Collaborate closely with customers to understand their operations and provide proactive service solutions that improve equipment reliability and uptime.

  • Develop and execute regional service plans to meet utilization, revenue, and profitability targets.

  • Partner with Product Line and Sales teams to identify opportunities for service growth and to implement new programs and technologies.

  • Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, and ensure sound cost control measures are in place.

  • Champion a culture of safety and compliance with Sandvik’s OH&S, Environmental, and Quality policies, as well as OSHA and MSHA regulations.

  • Use data and KPIs to track performance, identify trends, and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.

  • Represent the Service Department in cross-functional planning and business development discussions.

  • Prepare monthly reports by consolidating data regarding HSE, financial performance, field service performance, and Customer Satisfaction.

Your Profile:

  • Technical diploma or degree in related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of 15 years of industry experience, including 7+ years in a leadership or managerial role overseeing field or service operations.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams, set direction, and achieve results in a fast-paced, customer-driven environment.

  • Strong technical background with a solid understanding of mining or heavy equipment maintenance practices.

  • Strong commitment to safety leadership, with a deep understanding of regulatory compliance (OSHA/MSHA) and proven success promoting a zero-harm culture

  • Deep understanding of mining and construction equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills.

  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of balancing strategic and hands-on responsibilities.

  • Deep understanding of mining and construction equipment, including hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.

  • Strong business acumen with experience managing budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation.

  • Ability to facilitate training, mentor technical staff, and communicate complex information clearly.

  • Familiarity with ISO standards and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma).

Work Environment:

This position is based in Elko, NV. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday. Some travel may be required within the region to visit customer sites and support field operations.
