Göran Björkman appointed Chairman of the Swedish Association of Industrial Employers

“I look forward to this assignment and to driving the interests of the Association as part of strengthening the industry's competitiveness and innovation capacity in Sweden,” says Göran Björkman.

The Association is an organization for steel, metal, mining, pulp, paper, sawmill, building material, and bottled glass industries as well as themechanical welding industry. It represents approximately 1,000 member companies with about 90,000 employees.

Göran is appointed Chairman at a time of challenges and opportunities. The economic growth is declining, the social consequences of the corona pandemic are extensive, and both the Swedish and the global economy are in a challenging situation.

“It is crucial that the industry is given the right conditions to continue to be a driving force for the Swedish economy. Swedish industry needs cost control and long-term ground rules. Stable and long-term planning is necessary for the industry's capital-intensive investments,“ says Göran Björkman.
