A house for learning and technology
As a proud main partner, Sandvik's CEO Björn Rosengren today opened Rapatac in Sandviken – Sweden's most modern activity center for children and young people. Together with Rapatac, Sandvik wants to create a place that inspires and increases interest in learning and technology.
Many had gathered to participate in the inauguration of Rapatac, a concept that challenges the outlook on children, knowledge and learning. The vision is to create challenging working methods and an attractive environment that help more children and young people reach the school's knowledge goals.
This will give more children an active leisure time and an opportunity to raise their level of knowledge.
“Sandvik has long focused on creating technology interest for young people and this is a collaboration that we are very proud of and that we believe will make a big difference for children and young people in Sandviken. We all benefit from having secure, curious and knowledgeable young people who can continue to develop society and business,” says Björn Rosengren.

At the 3D print hub, children and young people can learn more about 3D printing.“Rapatac is a piece in the puzzle that is needed in the community to complement the home environment and school,” says Moussa N'Diaye, founder of Rapatac. “By offering knowledge-based activities, an attractive environment and access to school support, everybody will get the same opportunity to succeed in school. This will give more children an active leisure time and an opportunity to raise their level of knowledge. We want to open up the world to our children and young people and show that nothing is impossible.”
Labs for learning
The activity house in Sandviken will offer homework help and school support, as well as a range of activities such as media, music production, film production, photography and print, culture, dance and arts, sports, outdoor life and above all technology. Part of the center's activities that Sandvik sponsored goes under the name Sandvik.lab and consists of chemical labs, mechanical labs, electronics labs and programming activities. Here, children and young people will learn more about technology and science in practice and theory.
