“The Wilhelm Haglund Medal” – 30 years of promoting innovation
This year marks the 30 year anniversary of the renowned award the “Wilhelm Haglund Medal for the product developer of the year”. The award is a prestigious acknowledgment within Sandvik to important industrial innovations with significant customer benefits and commercial value for the company.
For the 2016 jubilee there are seven high-quality nominations representing several of Sandvik’s areas of expertise. The winner will be presented at the Annual General Meeting on 28 April 2016 by a jury chaired by Sandvik’s President and CEO Björn Rosengren.
The Wilhelm Haglund Medal for “the product developer of the year” has been awarded since 1986 and is named after Sandvik’s legendary Managing Director Wilhelm Haglund who laid the foundations for Sandvik’s successes in the cemented-carbide area. Wilhelm Haglund was appointed Managing Director of Sandvik in 1958 and held the position until his retirement in 1967.
In total, 64 employees have received the award and in several cases, it has been given to a team of employees.
