The Object: Insert

An insert, used in the manufacturing industry to cut metal, is mainly made out of various combinations of tungsten carbide and cobalt.

Tungsten is a finite resource, so recycling is important. Only a small part of the insert is actually worn away during its working life; about 95% can be recycled.
