Sandvik secures materials-handling orders valued at more than SEK 350 M

The market-leading technology and service company Sandvik Materials Handling, part of the Sandvik Mining and Construction business area, has secured three major orders for materials-handling equipment for ports and mines.

The total value of the orders is in excess of SEK 350 M.

The orders are for deliveries to the port of Bourgas in Bulgaria, an iron-ore mine in Dalian, China and to the Goro nickel mine in New Caledonia in the southwest Pacific, east of Australia. The deliveries will be made in 2003-2004.

All three orders were secured through the Sandvik subsidiary in Austria, Voest-Alpine Materials Handling.

"These market successes are further confirmation that our focus on high technology combined with service provides us a significant competitive advantage," says Jarmo Juntunen, President of Sandvik Materials Handling.
