Warehouse Operations Manager - M2

The Role:
The Warehouse Operations Manager is accountable for the overall day to day running of the Warehouse in support to the Operations Manager for the Distribution Centre. The position ensures that daily targets for operational activities such as receiving, picking, packing, cycle count, dispatch, etc are achieved
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Planning, organizing and monitoring resources (including people and equipment) to execute the warehousing processes
- Managing the Warehouse Supervisors performance and providing leadership to the warehouse operators and stock auditors
- Drive on time in full delivery results and expectations
- Ensuring daily operational targets such as receiving, binning, picking, packing, dispatching are achieved
- Ensuring execution of operations in accordance with EHS policies and global Sandvik Mining logistics processes
- EHS performance management by ensuring that incidences, hazards and safety observations are logged within the EHS360 platform and high risk potential incidences are investigated
- Identifying opportunities for improvements of the WMS/TMS and operational activities within the warehouse operations
- Ensuring daily cycle counts, bin audits, and stock accuracy checks are performed and analysed
- Controlling and clearing blocked stock (frozen inventory)
- Managing stock adjustments, short picks, scrap processes, and returns
- Controlling vulnerable and high-value materials in line with GIA requirements
- Managing labour related operational costs such as overtime and temporary employee costs
- Creating and updating the warehouse operational plan
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives across warehouse and logistics operations
- Manage warehouse queries, and open LPS for the warehouse
Your Profile
- Grade 12 (Matric) completed
- Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in Warehousing, Distribution, or Supply Chain Management, preferably in fast paced, mining or distribution environment
- At least 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and order fulfilment processes
- Valid driver’s license
