Rocktools Logistics Coordinator

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Rocktools Logistics Coordinator to join our team based at PT Freeport Indonesia - located in the Papua Province, Indonesia.

You will plan, organize, monitor, execute and control Projects Rocktools Logistics to ensure delivery according to project objectives and Sandvik project model(s).

Job Summary

The Rocktools Logistics Coordinator is responsible for supervising and executing in excellent the end-to-end logistics process of Rocktools consumables, ensuring timely and sustainable delivery from origin to the Highland Operation area. This role requires strong coordination across internal and external stakeholders to maintain optimal stock levels, streamline logistics operations, and uphold high service performance standards. Responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end logistics operations for Rocktools projects, with a strong focus on trade customs importation and compliance, as well supervising stock level and operational readiness and maintaining services level to the Highland Operation teams. This role demands strategic thinking, operational excellence, and the ability to navigate complex global supply chain challenges while ensuring timely delivery and cost efficiency and also ensuring high service level to the frontline Highland Operation team

Main Responsibilities

Plan, organize, monitor, execute and control Rocktools logistics projects to achieve project delivery on time, on cost and within the specified scope and quality:

1.Order-to-Delivery Management (Inbound & Outbound):

  • Oversee the full logistics cycle from order placement to final delivery.

  • Monitor and improve delivery performance metrics.

2.Sustainable Logistics Execution:

  • Implement and promote environmentally sustainable logistics practices.

  • Optimize transportation and packaging to reduce carbon footprint.

3.Stock Level Management:

  • Ensure Rocktools consumables are available at the right levels across all logistics legs.

  • Forecast demand and align stock replenishment accordingly.

  • Monitor inventory from origin to site and onward to Highland operations.

4.External Stakeholder Collaboration:

  • Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs traders, bonded zone operators, and government agencies (e.g., Customs, Trade Department).

  • Ensure compliance with all import/export regulations and documentation.

5.Internal Stakeholder Coordination:

  • Work closely with Inventory, Warehouse, Customer Service, Freight, Highland Operations, Division, and Purchasing teams.

  • Align logistics activities with operational and customer needs.

6.Sales & Procurement Relationship Management:

  • Maintain communication with Procurement and Contract teams for business updates and planning.

  • Support commercial teams with logistics insights and performance data.

7.Service Level Assurance:

  • Monitor logistics service KPIs to ensure durability, consistency, and sustainability.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery.

  • Create, develop and execute the Project Plan according to Project Charter (or equivalent).

  • Ensure efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources.

  • Execute projects according to Sandvik Project models and appropriate methods

  • Lead, manage and motivate the project team.

  • Manage dependencies, risks and opportunities.

  • Follow-up and report on project status (cost, time/progress, quality etc.).

  • Communicate effectively with project team and stakeholders.

  • Manage changes to the project scope imposed by e.g. customer or steering group decisions.

  • Train and coach project team members

  • Hand-over projects deliverables to receiving organization(s)

  • Participate to project tasks and assignments and utilize own expertise in supply chain management

Key Expertise & Requirements:

1. Trade Customs Importation:

  • 7–10 years of hands-on experience in customs clearance and importation processes.

  • Deep understanding of international trade regulations and compliance standards.

  • Ability to adapt to and implement new importation regulations effectively.

2. Business Acumen in Logistics:

  • 7–10 years of experience in logistics strategy and operations.

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to balance cost, efficiency, and compliance.

3. Technical Knowledge:

  • Comprehensive understanding of trade customs and related challenges in global shipping and freight, for specific Rocktools products.

  • Expertise in demand planning, inventory management, and stock level optimization.

4. Regulatory & Industry Awareness:

  • Up-to-date knowledge of evolving trade and import regulations.

  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate risks related to freight and customs compliance.

5. Language & Communication:

  • Proficient in English (written and spoken) for global coordination and documentation. Advanced (CEFR C1/ Completed EF level 12)

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

6. Ability to travel globally if required

7. Strong understanding of international shipping, bonded zone operations, and customs regulations.

8. Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.

9. Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
