The Warehouse Deputy Team Leader will support the logistics function by helping to support the managing the Warehouse functions on daily basis. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the continuous improvement of the Company’s warehousing and stock control functions and will be fundamental in the achievement of the department’s key objectives

Main Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe working environment abiding by all necessary health and safety requirements and legislation.

  • Lead a team of store personnel that operate in the goods in and kitting department

  • Liaise with kitting team and stores departments, ensuring critical parts are fast-tracked on receipt

  • Liaise with procurement team on any delivery discrepancies, identifying and communicating areas for improvement with supplier deliveries

  • Manage and drive efficiency and productivity with team members

  • Drive stock accuracy across the entire material holding

  • Carry out and drive improvements in housekeeping

  • Drive your team to adhere to basic FIFO principles

  • Uphold the professional and progressive image of the company at all times adhering to the Sandvik standards of Fair Play.

  • Build and develop EHS culture within the team

Essential Criteria and Skills

  • Minimum of 2 years’ managerial experience in a Warehouse/Logistics environment

  • Computer Literate and competent with Microsoft Office tools.

  • Experience of Logistics, warehousing and inventory control

  • Knowledge of ERP / MRP system

  • Experience in Process development and implementation

  • Highly developed time management and organizational skills.

  • Proven track record of excellent leadership skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills both verbal and written.

Desirable Criteria

  • Trained and experienced on safe operation forklifts- Counterbalance and reach truck

  • First Aid trained
