Order Desk Manager

We are looking for a an ambitious, motivated and results orientated Individual to join our team as our Order Desk Manager.
The role will report to the Supply Chain Manager. The role will be based from our offices in Spartan, Kempton Park, Johannesburg.
Purpose of the role:
- Leading the Regional Supply Internal Order Desk for Africa Screening Solutions from order intake to final delivery. Key Performance Areas are Total Order Response time and Customer Satisfaction.
The job responsibilities:
- Directly managing the customer order flow processes for the Regional Supply Order Desk
- Interface for the Sales Areas on all related operational questions regarding quotations, orders, and deliveries
- End to End responsibility for the Sales Order status and communication
- Responsible for ensuring orders are processed, fulfilled, including order entry, administration, and shipping
- Oversees activities of third-party vendors to ensure orders flow effectively through systems and processes in accordance with the organization's customer service standards
- Support with a variety of questions. (lead times, shipping, technical/commercial verification, order confirmation and effective communication)
- Match Customer Orders with regional availability
- Develops capacity plans to support build-to-stock and/or build-to-order environments
- Ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost
- Prepares and maintains volume and demand/supply planning analyses based on internal and external information to establish and effectively manage order backlog
- Responsible for challenging Assembly Centres and Production Units to ensure best possible Customer Services
- Collaborating with Inventory, Purchasing and Warehouse teams to source items
- Daily review and resolution of outstanding orders by changing source, where it is linked to Purchase Orders or Distribution Requirement Planning
- Continuous Review of Unit Down / Emergency Orders and expedite accordingly
- Secure the Delivery of goods and all required shipping documentation.
- Communication to internal/external customers regarding progress on all open orders
- Processing of Credit Requests
- Case Management and Customer Satisfaction level
- Implement a spirit of teamwork within the Order Desk Team
- Implementing workflow procedures and managing adherence effectively
- Supporting and enabling change management and transformation
- Performance monitoring and Continuous Improvement initiatives
EHS Responsibilities
- Comply with SRP SHEQ management system and Targets set.
- Live the Sandvik EHS Culture.
- Drive safety awareness and performance to achieve SRP EHS compliance standards and Key Performance Indicators
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
- Grade 12
- Degree within the supply chain area or equivalent
- 10 years’ experience within a manufacturing, supply chain environment, service-minded, exposure to global business operations
- 5 years’ experience at supervisory/management level in supply chain, customer service business management
Other Requirements & Competencies
- Requires in-depth knowledge and experience of equipment and aftermarket parts delivery
- Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business requirements to improve availability and delivery performance
- Works independently, receives minimal guidance
- Supports team members and colleagues to increase performance and overall Customer Service Delivery
- Ability to analyse and structure incoming requests
- Strong negotiation to influence internal/external stakeholders
- Ability to work independently and part of a team
- Must be able to manage a diversity of functions / multi- tasking.
- Structured analytical approach, Problem Solving
- Competence in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to understand and interpret data using the applicable software applications
- Good people and communication skills
- Results Focused
- Proactive with an analytical mindset
- Advanced Competence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Valid driver’s license
