MHE Trainer

Sandvik Mining & Rock is recruiting for an MHE Trainer/Order Picker for our Romeoville warehouse operations.

Sandvik Mining & Rock, the leading global supplier of equipment and tools, service and technical solutions for the mining industry, currently has an opening for an MHE Trainer/Order Picker.

As the MHE Trainer/Oder Picker, you will be responsible for providing effective training of Material Handling Equipment (MHE) drivers across various equipment and support Operations as required.

JOB PURPOSE

As an MHE, you may be responsible for placing/picking parts within the guidelines of all established policies and procedures. You will contribute to a clean and safe working environment ensuring an effective and efficient execution of the distribution operations, profitability of the organization and customer satisfaction through performing basic distribution operational processes maintaining quality and productivity standards.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adheres to all Sandvik policies, SOPs, safety, and environmental practices

  • Uses correct tools and materials safely in executing operational processes and inspections e.g. MHE

  • Locate assigned warehouse inventory to place/pick parts

  • Responsible for counting, verifying and moving items and quantities safely and accurately throughout the facility. Counting and verifying may be performed manually using paperwork or through the automated WMS function using an RF device.

  • Communicate regularly with the Operational Leadership team and Process Controllers regarding manifest completion and shipment status

  • Perform other warehouse operations such as other MHE, Dock and/or Tablework functions, inspection of product to look for damages and ensure proper quality and counting of product based on vendor/customer order quantities.

  • Reports any discrepancies with regard to non-conformance, inventory, safety and other anomalies

  • Transport parts/orders utilizing multiple different MHE

  • Accurately performing Value Added Service (VAS) functions on customer orders. This may include but is not limited to: applying customer specified item numbers to products, labelling or packaging per customer requirements, packing of orders per customer requirements, supplying the correct paperwork or correct number of copies as specified by the customer, and additional VAS functions as required.

  • Follow instructions by leadership

  • Labor share throughout facility

  • Participates in continuous improvement projects

  • Warehouse administration and housekeeping

  • Other duties as assigned due to business needs

EXPERIENCE

1-2 years’ experience in Warehousing/ Distribution/ Supply Chain environment

Forklift driving experience/certification Ability to use RFT, Warehouse Management System, Badge related systems and other warehouse systems as assigned.

EDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

High School or equivalent experience. Post-secondary education/training in business or supply chain discipline would be of advantage.

OTHER:

  • Desirable English Proficiency: Upper Intermediate (CEFR B2/ Completed EF level 9) Must be able to read and interpret customer orders, procedures and policies. Ability to effectively communicate to managers, supervisors, team leads and other employees to address customer or warehouse issues. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

  • Organization Contribution: Operational controls, Warehouse efficiency, Warehouse improvement, Performance management

  • KPIS: Inbound & outbound on time, Returns compliance, LPS close-out time, Goods in transit aging

  • Lifting up to 50lbs

  • Standing for long periods of time (8+ hours a day)
