Sourcing Engineer

We are searching for a Sourcing Engineer to join our team in SMR-Assembly Centre, Hinjewadi Pune.

The role

The person in this position will be responsible for developing new suppliers in categories of Steel Fabrication, Machining, Hydraulics, Mechanical Components, for localizing components and supporting the sourcing & NPD projects. This person shall also be responsible for releasing proto purchase orders and material follow-up to ensure smooth inflow of raw material and services required for the production.

Areas of responsibility:-

Development of all components required for the smooth flow of production / assembly activities. Conduct new supplier identification and evaluation through audit, capability study.
Responsible for adherence to internal and external policies, regulations and laws
Responsible for suppliers’ compliance with Sandvik policies and guidelines including EHS, Supplier Code of Conduct etc.
Build up and maintain strategic and long-term cooperation relationships with key & strategic suppliers.
Secure supplier quality performance analysis, report and provide feedback on findings, and be actively involved in supplier performance evaluation. Work closely with supplier development engineer.
Lead and work closely with Supplier Quality on new supplier qualification
Master data Maintenance in SAP
To send forecast to the suppliers for the materials required for production as per the plan. Work closely with procurement engineers.
Timely releasing of development Purchase Order.
Follow-up with suppliers and arrange the materials on time for achieving the Production Targets
Follow and maintain all safety EHS norms
Process the requirements for Outside processing of the materials.
Coordinate for Logistics arrangement of Local & Import material
Maintain Import ordering status file and act, where required.

Your profile

Education / Experience

Bachelors Degree in Engineering with 4-5 Year Experience in sourcing.

Competencies

· Excellent analytical skills and the ability to conduct cost analysis and market research.

· Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

· Strong communication and negotiation skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
