Technical Sales Representative – Kewdale, WA

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Technical Sales Representative to drive revenue growth and strengthen customer partnerships across our underground mining portfolio. This role plays a critical part in promoting Sandvik’s equipment solutions through a consultative, value-based sales approach focused on total cost of ownership and long-term customer success.

You will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities while managing and growing relationships with existing customers. Working closely with internal technical, parts, and service teams, you will ensure seamless execution of sales strategies and deliver solutions aligned with customer operational needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans for assigned territories and customer portfolios.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for underground mining equipment.

  • Lead the full sales lifecycle from opportunity identification through to deal closure.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers to ensure long-term satisfaction and loyalty.

  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring timely resolution of commercial and technical matters.

  • Communicate and demonstrate the value proposition of Sandvik’s product range, focusing on total cost of ownership and operational benefits.

  • Collaborate with account managers, technical support, parts, and service teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.

  • Maintain accurate CRM records, including sales pipelines, customer visit reports, equipment population data, and opportunity statuses.

  • Ensure all sales activities comply with Sandvik’s EHS standards, policies, and the Sandvik Way.


About you:

You are a sales professional with a strong technical understanding of underground mining equipment and operations. You thrive in a customer-facing role, using a consultative approach to uncover needs, create value, and build trusted partnerships.

Key skills and qualifications:

  • Trade qualification or bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.

  • Proven experience within the mining industry or capital equipment environment.

  • Experience in technical sales, business development, or account management (highly regarded).

  • Strong understanding of underground mining operations and equipment applications.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships across multiple stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate technical and commercial concepts.

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

  • A proactive, results-oriented mindset with a strong focus on safety and compliance.
