The Role
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining Sandvik Mining equipment to ensure maximum machine availability, high customer satisfaction, and effective SHEQ performance. This service is delivered directly to Sandvik Mining clients.
Key Performance Areas
- Perform maintenance of earthmoving equipment in mining and construction environments.
- Identify service and maintenance requirements from work orders.
- Diagnose faults, follow checklists, inspect and test equipment.
- Execute maintenance and service tasks as required.
- Report deviations, faults, and any equipment damage.
- Tag and deliver components to the store or workshop and recommend necessary spare parts.
- Ensure full compliance with the Sandvik SHEQ Management System, including Objectives and Targets.
- Uphold Sandvik’s EHS Policies, Vision, Culture, and “Commitment & Responsibility” principles.
- Comply with Sandvik and Client standards, and operating procedures.
- Control hazardous substances and report hazardous conditions or unsafe acts.
- Participate in incident and accident investigations.
- Attend SHE forum meetings.
- Maintain high housekeeping and maintenance standards.
- Demonstrate a strong customer service focus and commitment to achieving goals.
Your Profile
- Higher National Diploma or NCC qualification in Mechanical, Millwright, Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronic trades.
- Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience with mechanized mining equipment in underground or surface mining environments.
- Post-trade experience maintaining heavy vehicle machinery.
- Experience with or knowledge of Sandvik underground and surface mining equipment is a distinct advantage.
- Computer literacy and related technical software knowledge will be an added advantage.
