National Sales Manager - Parts & Services

Sandvik Mining is looking for a National Sales Manager!

Sandvik Mining is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

The National Sales Manager will be responsible for developing customer relationships and an effective sales team to execute the sales strategy, identifying, and following up on sales opportunities, meeting required revenue targets, driving profitability results, and gaining market share across all territories in the USA.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct business in an ethical and compliant way, dedicated to health, safety, and sustainability.
  • Know and understand the customer's business, market challenges, and the presence of competitors.
  • Managing, developing, and expanding customer relationships and new business.
  • Responsible for creating the sales strategy for parts and services, maximizing profitable growth with a strong business intelligence base.
  • Identify gaps in the sales strategy and develop solutions for markets with low penetration.
  • Build sustainability plans to retain sales in areas of significant penetration.
  • Growth and retention of existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to customers.
  • Grow the market share of strategic product portfolios.
  • Work with internal stakeholders on customer strategies that will affect the business's revenue and profitability.
  • Recruit, mentor, motivate, train, evaluate, lead, and coach sales team members (where appropriate) to accomplish the goals and objectives.
  • Lead the P&S sales teams, sales support team, and customer service center.
  • Lead P&S contribution to large projects and proposals.
  • Review competitors’ offerings and prices to determine strategies to improve market penetration.
  • Stays current with industry developments, competitive offerings, and issues affecting sales and customers.
  • Routinely provide sales forecasts, budgets, and sales results for the parts & service group in the USA.
  • Utilize synergies with other businesses and all other resources in the USA.
  • Share and learn from peers in other countries through best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.

EXPERIENCE

  • Strong knowledge of equipment, tools, and technical solutions used in the mining and construction industry, supported by formal education in a technical field such as Engineering.

  • An in-depth understanding of customer business and mining processes.

  • Strong knowledge of the mining industry.

  • Extensive experience in managing customer relationships.

  • Well-developed understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements.

  • Global Market Experience.

EDUCATION

  • Commercial, Technical, or Business Degree.
  • MBA in Business Management
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Sales Management and strategy development as an OEM in the Mining or Construction segment

OTHER

  • The role requires willingness and ability to travel as required, up to 65% of the time.
